The third-biggest U.S. steel producer rode higher steel prices and increased demand for its high-end electrical products to a record $7 billion in sales. Shares really took off in March, when the company settled a yearlong strike at its main factory in Ohio. In October the company set up a benefits trust for retirees that it expects to reduce costs by $1 billion.
