The announcement on Tuesday that General Motors was bringing back "Employee Pricing for Everyone" wasn't exactly a surprise. After all, GM sales are down and the industry as a whole is suffering.
But here are a few things that might surprise you. The big savings aren't just on outgoing 2008 models. And the handful of 2009 model year cars included in the program aren't slow-selling trucks and SUVs.
The biggest surprise of all is the 2009 Cadillac CTS. The CTS, redesigned for the 2008 model year, has been a hot seller and with good reason. Named Motor Trend Car of the Year in 2008, it's a very serious contender against cars like the BMW 3-series and the Mercedes-Benz C-class - offering even more room and an artfully designed interior. Add on below-invoice pricing and you've got a really compelling deal.
